D&AD: Typographic Circle
According to the brief each supplement issue have to be about one chosen designer or typographer who have give a talk for the Typographic Circle. My intention was to transfer the designer’s personality into the supplement aesthetics without copying their style.
The concept is based on one specific work that is selected in cooperation with the editor and designer, which the aesthetic is translated to spread structures and custom lettering by a set of designed methods, including negative space and shape ‘mutations’.
These visual transitions are supported by a contextual narrative laid to personal credentials through biographical facts, quotes and interview parts forming a step by step personal portrait.
Thereby, the concept will form unique look for every single issue holding all under one series.
